Franciscan Charities has been blessed over the years with the support of many local businesses. This week, we’d like to focus on Jerry Rose Floral and Event Design, a business that has continued to support our efforts to help the poor since the very beginning.
Jerry Rose, the owner of Jerry Rose Floral and Event Design, was introduced to Franciscan Charities in the earliest stages of our work, through our Healing Ministry and the work of Brother Paul Miller. Jerry felt an immediate spiritual connection to our organization’s mission, but he was also quite taken with our fledgling efforts to feed the poor — and what would eventually become our busy soup kitchen.
Jerry feels very strongly about family and the togetherness and stability a family dinner can provide. Coming to the table to share meals with his own family was an important part of his life growing up. He began to think about what it meant if a family didn’t have the opportunity to share a meal together, due to financial restraints, homelessness, and other difficult situations.
With these thoughts in mind and heart, he became one of our earliest supporters and continues to bless us with his time, talent, and generosity.
