With the new school year quickly approaching, school supplies are on the minds of most parents. Purchasing supplies, however, can be a daunting task for families struggling to get by, but thanks to the National Council of Jewish Women of Essex, ten children in grades K – 5 from Franciscan Charities participated in their Back 2 School Store event held on July 29th at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston. The kids received backpacks, clothing, sneakers, school supplies, books, personal care items, and more. Franciscan Charities transported the kids, along with a parent, to and from the event.
The Back 2 School Store event was a very exciting day for NCJW/Essex, their volunteers, and for the children from the participating organizations. Franciscan Charities was thrilled to be chosen to participate—and the smiles from our young clients underscored the positive impact and joy of the day.
